Citations filed State police filed summary charges against Michael Groh Jr., 19, of South Connellsville after he allegedly stopped his vehicle in the middle of Breakneck Road at 3:30 a.m. Thursday and screamed obscenities at the residents in the area of 921 Breakneck Road. Numerous residents witnessed the incident, police said. Charges were filed with the office of District Justice Robert Breakiron.

State police said Lev Shnol, 48, of Pittsburgh was not injured when the vehicle he was driving struck a deer on Route 51 north near Church Street at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Woman escapes injury

State police said Joy Stevens, 18, of Everson was not injured when she lost control of her car and hit a utility pole along Route 981 at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Man hurt in crash

State police said Elijah D. Williams Jr. of Vestaburg fell asleep while driving on Richeyville Road and struck a stone wall along the east berm at 2:05 a.m. Friday. He suffered minor injuries.

Break-in reported

Someone broke in to the South Street Grill through the Main Street door and ransacked two cash registers and the counters early Friday, city police said. The break-in was discovered at 4:50 a.m. Police said they did not know if anything was taken.

Thefts reported

City police reported the following incidents of theft:

– A pop machine in front of the Fayette County Emergency Management building, East Main Street, was broken into at 12:40 a.m. Friday and an unknown amount of money was taken.

– Daniel Reese reported Thursday morning that a Husqvarna chain saw and Milwaukee reciprocating saw were stolen from his unlocked truck while it was parked at 58 S. Gallatin Ave. Wednesday night.

– A red motor scooter, which did not work, was reported stolen from a garage at Curtis Little’s 28 Whiteman Ave. residence at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.

Citations filed

Harassment and criminal mischief citations were filed against Jerry Godines, 35, of 44 Whiteman Ave. for allegedly grabbing and breaking a diamond necklace that Sharlene A. Hartley was wearing Nov. 5 while she was walking to her West Main Street apartment, city police said.

A window on a car owned by Ginny Frost was reported broken in the White Swan Apartments parking lot on West Main Street at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, city police said.

Court issues citations

Greene County Judge William R. Nalitz on Oct. 27 cited four defendants for contempt of court for failure to comply with their court orders regarding the support of their children.

Cited were Mose L. Parnell III of Latrobe, Paula Gorby of Wind Ridge, Guy Searcy of Mather (two cases) and Chad R. Spino of Rices Landing, according to a release from the court.

The court also issued processes for the arrest of Ronald Baer of Martin, Thomas Brooks of Jefferson, George Cameron of Waynesburg, Gary Fox of Waynesburg, Joshua J. Plants of Waynesburg, Sherree L. Sprouse of Sycamore and Harriet J. Villers of Waynesburg for failure to appear for court hearings regarding the support of their children.

Five defendants – Gary Fox of Waynesburg, Anthony Burnworth of Carmichaels, Michael Deuesenberry of Waynesburg, Ronald Bradley of Pittsburgh, and Donnie P. Yeager (two cases) of Brave – were arrested on warrants, and the court on Oct. 29 cited them for contempt of court.

Man hurt in fall

Emergency officials responded to an accident at HBC Barge of Brownsville at 2:27 p.m. Friday after an employee there fell approximately 5 feet, suffering some bruising, according to Walt Kuhns, the chief executive officer of HBC, who would not speculate further on the employee’s condition.

The employee, whose name was not revealed, was taken to Brownsville General Hospital for precautionary reasons and further testing, Kuhns said, adding that the accident was “minor.”

Fayette EMS, Hiller Ambulance and Hiller Volunteer Fire Department responded at the scene.

Reward offered

Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for a recent double homicide in Washington County.

The bodies of Fred Barilla, 50, of Canonsburg and Martin J. Brahler, 40, of Venetia were found Nov. 4 inside Price’s Tavern on Route 19 in North Strabane Township. Barilla was a patron and Brahler was a bartender.

State police in Washington and the township police department determined that both victims were shot to death between 11:30 p.m. Nov. 3 and 11:30 a.m. Nov. 4. Robbery does not appear to have been the motive.

State police said someone broke the rear window of McClellandtown resident Michael Todd Grimm’s 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee while it was parked at 158 Dixon Blvd. between midnight and 9 a.m. Wednesday.

State police said no one was injured in a three-vehicle accident involving 21-year-old Nathan B. Able and 21-year-old Gordon C. Anderson on West Crawford Avenue around 6 a.m. Friday. The third vehicle was parked and unattended, police said.

White aluminum siding was taken from the Nellie Road residence of Kenneth Dillen Shultz between 10 and 11 a.m. Thursday, state police said.

Juvenile charged

State police said a juvenile was found in possession of controlled substances at Laurel Highlands High School around 11:40 a.m. Oct. 20. Charges were filed through Fayette County Juvenile Probation, police said.

State police said a red 2002 Ford Focus sedan owned by David Robert Ream, 30, of Mill Run was taken from a parking lot across from Sarnelli’s Market along Route 31 between 9:15 a.m. Oct. 26 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27. Someone struck the driver’s side of a 1990 Honda Accord belonging to David Huffine of Dawson between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday, state police said.

Hit-and-run crash

State police said someone driving a dark-colored SUV, now with damage to the right front fender, fled the scene after striking a 1990 Chevrolet Beretta operated by Edward Martin, 41, of Uniontown around 9 p.m. Friday at Jarrett Drive off Route 119. Neither Martin nor his passenger Mina Martin, 36, of Uniontown was injured, police said.

Man charged

Justin Collins, 22, of Lemont Furnace was charged with harassment after he allegedly punched Sabrina Mayfield, 23, of Uniontown in the mouth along Cycle Avenue around 3:50 a.m. Saturday.

State police said Joseph Milton, 26, of Mount Pleasant was not injured when his 2002 Mazda hit a sign and rolled over along Three Mile Hill near Route 31 at 11:35 p.m. Friday.

Two windows were damaged on a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix belonging to Cheryl L. Spiker of Elma Avenue sometime between 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday morning, state police said.

Someone damaged a double pane window at the 70 Dixon Blvd. residence of Thomas P. Lilliardi sometime between 4 a.m. and noon Friday, state police said.

State police said someone scratched a vehicle belonging to Gary Soisson of West Leisenring sometime between noon Wednesday and 4 p.m. Friday.

Church damaged

State police said someone lit wood and plastic garbage cans on fire at the rear of the Faith Assembly Church of God on Morgantown Road, causing exterior damage estimated at $1,500 to the structure on Sept. 16. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the culprits. Man and woman charged

Angela Seehoffer, 20, of 31 Lebanon Ave. and Kevin Michael Pitts, 18, of 31 Lebanon Ave. were placed in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $25,000 and a $15,000 straight cash bond, respectively, after a vehicle Seehoffer was operating allegedly struck an occupied car at the Uniontown Shopping Center on Oct. 30, city police said. Seehoffer was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property and various traffic offenses. Pitts was charged with simple assault, harassment, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Police said no one was injured in the accident.

Milk reported stolen

An employee at Pechin Express, located at 15 W. Main St., told city police someone left the store without paying for a quart of milk around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. A witness told police he saw the man put the quart of milk under his shirt, leave the store without paying for it and then get into a white Plymouth van. Police have other leads, but said the investigation is still ongoing.

$400 taken

Bernadette McDaniel of 154 Walnut St. told city police she was robbed around 5:30 a.m. Friday after she discovered $400 and medication stolen from her back pocket. McDaniel told police someone ran up behind her and shoved her to the ground while she was in her backyard walking her dog. When she got up, she noticed the items missing, police said.

Jennifer Martin, 18, of Elma Avenue was charged with prescription drug fraud after she allegedly attempted to gain prescription drugs from Gabler’s Drug store, located at 250 S. Mount Vernon Ave., city police said.

A Coca-Cola vending machine at C&C Tire at 247 E. Main St. was reported damaged around 11:22 a.m. Friday, city police said.

Theresa Simpson of North Gallatin Avenue told city police at 11:47 a.m. Friday someone was threatening to kill her. Police said a citation against a suspect is pending.
