Mary A. (Samek) Syslo, 79, of Irvington, N.J., formerly of Star Junction, Pa., died suddenly on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Syslo; and daughter of the late Steve and Caroline Samek.

Mary was the loving sister of Daniel Samek Sr., of Chichester, Pa., John Samek Sr., of Monroeville, Pa., Julia (Samek) Sinicki of Pittsburgh, Pa., Steve Samek Jr., of Trafford, Pa., Theresa (Samek) Hajduk of Star Junction, Pa., and the late Joseph Samek and Dorothy Samek. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated today at 9 a.m., in Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Irvington, N.J. Family and friends will be received at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216-44th Street, Lawrenceville, today only from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a Committal Service at Allegheny Cemetery at 10 a.m.
