Harold Raymond Jacobs, 80, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at his residence.

He was born July 19, 1923 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, son of Elmer E. and Merle Wagner Jacobs.

Mr. Jacobs was a Veteran of World War II who served as a Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy, a Layout Fitter Fabricator and Pattern Maker with the former Fruehauf Corporation in Uniontown, a member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association, and a Bluegrass Musician with many musician friends.

He was a Christian by faith.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Lewis and William Jacobs, sisters, Eleanor Jacobs and Mary Chandler, and parents

Surviving are his wife, Anita Kathleen Hyde Jacobs; seven children: Raymond Allen Jacobs and his wife, Christine, of Fairbank, Pa., Kimerle L. Nielsen of Uniontown, Kipling H. Jacobs and his wife, Martha Ann, of New Salem, Pa., Gisele DeAngelis and her husband, John, of Winterhaven, Florida, Heather Rae Sherman and her husband, Kenneth, of Powder Springs, Georgia, Parris G. Jacobs, and Autumn Hyde Fike and her fianc?e, H. Dennis Field Jr., all of Uniontown; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, November 17) until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Roger Ice officiating.

Interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery near Morgantown, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fayette Friends of Animals, Post Office Box 1282, Uniontown, PA 15401 or Pennsylvania National Wild Animal Orphanage, 169 Shepherd Lane, Uniontown, PA 15401.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
