Olive G. “Dolly” Prinkey Junk

Olive G. “Dolly” Prinkey Junk, 92, formerly of Connellsville, Pa., died Thursday, November 13, 2003 in LaFayette Manor, Uniontown, Pa.

She was born March 22, 1911 in Bullskin Township, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of James W. Prinkey Sr. and Viola Niswonger Prinkey.

“Dolly” graduated from Connellsville High School.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Department Head for the former Troutman’s Department Store in Connellsville.

She also had worked for the former G. C. Murphy Company.

“Dolly” had been a resident of the Connellsville Towers and the Riverview Apartments in Connellsville.

She was a former member and past President of the Riverview Tenants Association.

She was also a Retired Senior Volunteer Person, a member of Connellsville Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and the YMCA Federation Fellowship Association.

“Dolly” was a member of First Baptist Church in Connellsville where she served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher and was a member of its American Baptist Women and the Alturian Sunday School Class.

Her husband, James Chauncey Junk, died in 1968. Also deceased are a brother, Joseph James Prinkey, three sisters, Mary Robertson, Lily Weyant, Pauline Lane, and parents.

“Dolly” is survived by her loving Family: a son, Clark Junk and his wife, Connie, of Smock, Pa., and a daughter, Edna Ruth Schriver and her husband, Thomas, of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers: James W. Prinkey Jr. of Florida and Ralph E. Prinkey and his wife, Gerri, of South Connellsville, Pa.; and four sisters: Edna Prinkey and Beatrice Prinkey both of Greensburg, Pa., Sarah Luczak and her husband, Val, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Jessie Crowell of Scottdale, Pa.

Family and Friends were received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held today, Monday, November 17, at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Hellein officiating.

A Committal Service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to First Baptist Church, 301 South Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425 in memory of Olive G. “Dolly” Prinkey Junk.
