Thomas Rose
Thomas Rose, 76, of Los Angeles, Calif., and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., where he was born, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 14, 2003. He was the son of the late Samuel and Rosina Savona Rose.
Thomas was a member of The Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, Pa. He was a drum major in high school. He also attended Los Angeles City College and UCLA, majoring in accounting. Thomas worked in the motion picture and television industry, with a lengthy contract on “Hogan’s Heroes,” as well as a dancer and actor in other movies with the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA.
The production companies that he worked with knew he was talented and gave him some steady jobs with high performance actors, actresses, singers and dancers.
He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Rose, and three sisters, Lena Rose, Ann Rose and Pauline Rose.
Thomas is survived by two sisters, Josephine Rose of Los Angeles and Angella Hofsommer and her husband, Glenn, of San Leandro, Calif.; a brother, Peter “Pete” Rose of Brownsville, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Anthony Rose, of Brownsville, Pa.; a niece, Nancy Hennifer, and her husband, Greg, of California state; cousins Marlene Mancini and her husband, Michael, of West Brownsville, Pa., Dominic Savona and his wife, Jeannie, and their families of Brownsville, Pa., John Savona and his wife, Frances, and their family of Brownsville, Pa., and Josephine Savona and John Savona of Brownsville, Pa.
Thomas was a beloved and caring brother of his family and relatives. His family always came first, and he was there to help and support them.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday, when a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in The Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
