John “Jack” Mullen
John Robert “Jack” Mullen, age 77, of South Washington Street, Masontown, Pa., died Tuesday, November 18, 2003 in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born February 20, 1926 in Leckrone, Pa., son of John M. Mullen and Margaret Ann McHarg Mullen.
Jack was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown.
He had worked for the Bureau of Mines in South Park, Pa., served in the United States Navy during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post 423 in Masontown and also Voiture 40 & 8.
Two sisters, Mary Mullen and Margaret Wood, brother, Bernard Mullen, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, John R. “Jack” Mullen Jr., and his wife, Mary, of Key Largo, Florida.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church at 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., today from Noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, November 24, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, with Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, where Military Honors will be accorded by V. F. W. Post 4584 and American Legion Post 423.
