Thanksgiving dinner The Masontown Brethren Church is hosting a Community Thanksgiving service and dinner on Tuesday.

The service will begin at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

This special service and dinner is open to the community. The service will feature special music and a message from Pastor Curt Nies. Dinner will consist of turkey and trimmings.

“There is no cost to the evening. This is our gift to you,” said Pastor Nies.

Post Prom

The Albert Gallatin Post Prom Committee will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. All parents of seniors are asked to attend.

Plans for the Prom Fair and cash bash will be discussed.

Holiday baked goods

Today is the final day to place orders for the annual holiday bake sale at St. Mary’s Church, Leckrone.

Long rolls are $7; pumpkin rolls, $7; pierogies, $4 a dozen; and variety cookie trays for $25. Orders may be at 724-737-6788 or by calling 724-583-2580.

Friends of the Cemetery

Friends of the Masontown Cemetery will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the Maykuth Funeral Home.

Anyone interested in the preservation of this local historical landmark is invited to attend.

Salvation Army volunteers

The Masontown Service Center of the Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to help ring the bells and collect donations in the coming holiday season.

The Rev. Robert Lewis is the kettle captain.

Any group, organization, club, church or individual wishing to help is urged to call Rev. Lewis to volunteer.

The plan is to ring the bells in Masontown on Fridays and Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Pal’s Club Auxiliary

The Pal’s Club Ladies Auxiliary will hold their Christmas party on Dec. 6 beginning at 6 p.m. All reservations or cancellations must be made no later than Dec. 1. Call Betsy Kopacko at 724-583-9596 to make reservations.

All dues must be paid by the end of the year.

The next scheduled meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Italian Ladies

The Italian Ladies Christmas party will be held at Dolfi’s Restaurant on Wednesday, Dec. 10, beginning at 6 p.m. Dues must be paid to qualify for the dinner.

Reservations must be made by Friday, Dec. 5, by calling any officer.

Come and celebrate the season with new friends and renew old friendships for the holidays. The exchange of gifts is optional.
