Walter S. “Sonny” Brisky Jr.
Walter S. “Sonny” Brisky Jr., 56, of Hopwood Fairchance Road, Uniontown, and formerly of Little Brownfield, Pa., was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at his residence. He was born March 25, 1947, in Uniontown Hospital, the son of the late Walter S. Sr., and Adele (Malakos) Brisky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his lifelong love and friend Rebecca Mae (Leydig) Brisky on Oct. 21, 2002.
Sonny was formerly employed at Hillman Barge Company, in Brownsville, Pa., as a painter and then self-employed until his illness. Sonny was a man who lived a simple life. He enjoyed his work and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Shawn Antoinette Brisky to whom he was very devoted and resided with him; two diligent and devoted sons, Walter S. Brisky III and his wife, JoAnn of Uniontown, and Harland C. Brisky and wife, Diane of Albuquerque, N.M.; a carrying and compassionate twin sister, Joyce Ann (Brisky) Miller and husband, Bob of Fairchance, Pa.; five grandchildren, Walter (Bubba) IV and Jacob Brisky of Uniontown, Pa., and Jeremy, Samantha and Emily Brisky of New Mexico; several nieces and nephews; and a few special caregivers.
Friends will be received at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, today from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and until 10 a.m., on Saturday when a service will be held, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Mt. View Cemetery, Georges Township.
