William M. “Bill” Chesney Jr., 84, of Dunbar, Pa., died Monday, November 24, 2003 in Scottdale, Pa.

He was born September 11, 1919 in Shamokin, Pa., son of William M. Chesney Sr. and Elizabeth Schlenker Chesney.

William was employed by McNicholas Trucking Company as a Steel Hauler and was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Teamsters.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in World War II.

On January 25, 1947 he married Marie Ward Chesney, in Center, Pa. She died November 20, 2001. His parents are also deceased.

Surviving are two daughters: Cathy E. Chesney Crouse and her husband, Charles L. Crouse, of Dunbar, Pa., and Bonnie M. Chesney of Donegal, Pa., and friend, Jerry Kalp, of Champion, Pa.; three granddaughters: Crystal L. Crouse of Dunbar and boyfriend, Kevin B. Fulton, of Labrobe, Pa., Christina E. Crouse and Courtney L. Crouse both of Dunbar; one grandson, Ryan James Pavliak of Delmont, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Thomas A. Ward and his wife, Birdie, of Trafford, Pa.; also one niece and one nephew.

Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., today from Noon to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Monday, December 1, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Wrachford officiating.

Military Honors will be accorded at the Funeral Home by American Legion Post 301, American Legion Post 762 and V. F. W. Post 21 Honor Guard.

Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Borough, Pa.

Visitation was also held Saturday, November 29, from 7 to 9 p.m.
