Artentious Nix Ramsey
Artentious Nix Ramsey, age 84, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday evening, September 26, 2003 in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born November 17, 1918 in Johns, Alabama, daughter of Dudley Nix and Matilda Scott Nix.
She was a longtime resident of Tuskegee Terrace and recently resided at Mount Macrina Manor.
Artentious was a lifelong member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church and graduated from the former South Union High School.
A sister, Addie, two children, infant Zeola and Addie Houston, her husband, William Ramsey, and parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by 12 beloved children: Geraldine Dowe and husband Allen, Richard Ramsey and wife Felicia, and Gary Ramsey all of Columbus, Ohio, Larry Ramsey of Morgantown, West Virginia, William Ramsey and wife Georgiana, and Bernice Hall all of New Jersey, Gloria Boatright, Marva Ramsey, Kimberly Ramsey, Linda Kinney and husband Fred Kinney, Jeffrey Ramsey and wife Renee, and Stanton Ramsey and wife Tonya all of Uniontown, Pa.; 80 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; niece and nephew: Lorraine Daniels and Kenneth Daniels; and many cousins and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 5 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held Thursday, October 2, at 1 p.m., in Mount Olivet Baptist Church, 57 Stewart Avenue, Uniontown, with the Rev. Vincent L. Winfrey officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown.
