Local man waives burglary charges to court
CONNELLSVILLE – An East Gibson Avenue man charged with entering one home and attempting to enter another on the city’s South Side, will have the matter heard in Fayette County court. Jason M. Tesauro, 22, of 1521 E. Gibson Ave., who is charged with two counts of burglary and criminal trespass and one count each of criminal attempt and criminal mischief in connection with two Aug. 12 incidents, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday and opted to have them heard at the court level.
According to police, Tesauro was identified as the person who broke into the residence of Judy Browell and attempted to do the same at the home of Donald Ainsley.
Police said Browell reported that she found Tesauro standing inside a sliding glass screen door at about 10:15 p.m. just minutes after she had opened the glass portion of the door.
Browell told police after she and her daughter confronted Tesauro he left the home.
Ainsley reported to police that at 10:25 p.m. he found Tesauro outside his front door after hearing his screen door close and responding to the noise.
Police said a purse belonging to Ainsley’s wife was lying in full view of the front door at the time of the incident.
Tesauro remains lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $20,000 straight cash bond.
