Catherine Hethcox

Catherine Migyanko Hethcox, 73, of Apopka, Fla., formerly of Amend, Pa., died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003. She was born July 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Alex and Catherine Migyanko.

Catherine was the youngest of 11 children. She was a graduate of Georges Township High School in 1947, and Central Institute of Technology in 1950. She was employed with Pan American Airlines in the mid-50’s, first as a teletype operator and later as a stewardess.

In 1958, she married John Corton Hethcox of Lake County, Fla.

She was the owner and broker of Palmetto Properties in Miami, Fla., and then Cauley Square Realty Inc., in Apopka, for over 30 years. She was a member of the Apopka Historical Society and Apopka Garden Club, as well as a National Member of the American Business Women’s Association. She was also an avid lover and grower of orchids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; brothers, Charles, Alex Jr., John, Steve, George and Nicholas Migyanko; and sisters, Mary Legnasky and Ann Mickey.

She is survived by a sister, Helen Czajka of Farmington Hills, Mich.; a brother, Michael Migyanko of Waverly, Ohio; a step-grandson, John H. Hethcox of Mathews, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and three step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of contributions, Kay requests that a plant be planted in her memory. A private Panachida Service will be held in her memory.
