Salvatore R. (Sal) Onesi
Salvatore R. (Sal) Onesi, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, in Beverly Health Care Center.
He was born in Revere, Pa., on Dec. 15, 1919, son of the late John and Katherine Summa Onesi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Schnatterly Onesi; and a sister, Ermenia (Nena) Luna.
He was a draftsman for Westmoreland Engineering of Monessen, Pa. He enjoyed the McDonalds Coffee Club on Morgantown Street, and he was a very loving and caring person and helped people with their needs. Sal was a graduate of Uniontown Area High School, class of 1937.
He is survived by a son, Mark Onesi of Uniontown, Pa.; a daughter, Lisa Onesi of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Marietta Onesi of Uniontown, Pa.; and a brother, Gerald Onesi and wife, Juanita of Uniontown, Pa.
Friends will be received in THE JAMES D. BARNETT FUNERAL HOME, 196 West Main St., Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where prayer services will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth Zaccagnini V.F., pastor of St. Therese R. C. Church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lymphoma Foundation.
