Carlotta L. Firestone, (Ciccardini-Varney), C.N.A.
Carlotta L. Firestone, (Ciccardini-Varney), C.N.A., 52, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at 5:10 a.m., with her family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Carlotta was born on May 22, 1951, in Brownsville, Pa., daughter of the late Dorothy Marks Varney and Carlo Ciccardini.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Patricia, whom she loved dearly, and her nephew, David.
She is survived by her sons, Ray E. Firestone Jr., and his wife, Lori, and James C. Firestone and Jay D. Firestone, all of West Leisenring, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jadyn, Domenic and James; three sisters, Tanya King of Brownsville, Bernadette Alexander of Masontown, and Bennette Varney of Uniontown; and her stepfather, Benjamin Varney, who raised her as his own. She is also survived by a special niece, Ronnette LeGrain and nephew, Ronald Firestone; an uncle, the Rev. Norman Marks and wife, Evelyn; an aunt, Martha Kesterke, as well as several other loved ones who will cherish her memory.
Carlotta loved people and was a devoted caregiver, having been a Certified Nursing Assistant at Mount Macrina and most recently at Lafayette Manor, where she passed away. She always put others needs ahead of her own and will be remembered as having overwhelming compassion for children and the elderly. She was truly a woman of strength, honor and dignity.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME, AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., UNIONTOWN, PA., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday until 10:30 a.m., when prayers will be said, followed by Funeral Services at 11 a.m., in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, with Pastor Paul Frank officiating. Interment follows in Mt. Macrina Cemetery.
