SUNDAY. OCT. 19, 2003 Ham and turkey shoot, Dunbar Sportsmen’s Club, 1 p.m. Shoots for shotguns and .22 rifles. Refreshments available at the club house.

Turkey shoot, Centerville Boro Sportsmen’s Association, 1 p.m. Club located between Route 88 in Lowhill and Route 40 Centerville, just off Ridge Road. Follow the signs.

Primitive muzzleloader shoot, East Huntingdon Sportsman’s Association. Registration $5. Bring a prize worth $10 or for a donation, club will put a prize on the blanket for you. Shoot begins at 1 p.m. For more information, contact Mark Pushkis at 724-887-8359.

Turkey shoot, Amend Gun Club, 1 p.m.

Wing-shooting for hunters (trap and skeet), Fayette Gun Club, 1-5 p.m. Public invited. All shooters welcome.

Sporting clays shoot, California Hill Gun Club, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Fifty- and 100-target rounds available. Breakfast served from 9-11 a.m.

Oct. 21 – Five stand sporting clays, Fairbank Rod and Gun Club, 5 p.m.

Oct. 22 – Wing-shooting practice, Fayette Gun Club, 5-7 p.m. (under the lights). Public invited. All shooters welcome.

Nov. 1 – Tri-County Deer Rifle Shoot, Carmichaels Sportsmen’s Club, 11 a.m.

Nov. 1-29 – Second stage of triple-split dove season.

Nov. 3 – County treasurers statewide will begin accepting over-the-counter sales for remaining antlerless deer licenses.

Nov. 8 – Shotgun shoot, Bobtown Rod and Gun Club, 6:30 p.m. Shoot for ham, steaks, pork chops, bacon and keilbasa. For more information call 724-839-7460.

Nov. 9 Novelty muzzleloader shoot, East Huntingdon Sportsmen’s Association. Registration $8. Prizes for first and second place.

Nov. 15 – Archery deer season closes.

April 24, 2004 – Special spring gobbler season for eligible junior hunters, with required license, and when properly accompanied (1 bird limit).

Oct. 25-Nov. 29 – Male only pheasant season in WMUs 1A, 2A, 2B, 2C, 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E, 5A, 5B, 5C and 5D

Oct. 25-Nov. 29 – Bobwhite quail season. (Closed in WMUs 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 5C and 5D.)

Nov. 29 – Squirrel and early grouse seasons close.

Dec. 15-23 and Dec. 26-Jan. 10, 2004 – Ruffed grouse season.

Dec. 26-Jan. 3, 2004 -Hare (snowshoe rabbit) or varying hares.

BIG GAME

Nov. 1-22 – Turkey season (Male or Female): Wildlife Management Units 1A, 2A and 2B (Shotgun and bow and arrow)

Nov. 1-8 – Turkey season WMUs 5C and 5D (Shotgun and bow and arrow)

Nov. 1-15 – Turkey season WMU 1B (Shotgun and bow and arrow).

Nov. 1-22 – Turkey season WMUs 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2G, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D

May 1-29, 2004 – Spring gobbler season. (Bearded bird only)

Nov. 24-26 – Black bear season (Statewide).

Dec. l1-6 – Black bear season (WMU 3D).

Nov. 10-15 – Elk (Antlered or Antlerless).

DEER

DEER, ARCHERY (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide: Oct.4-Nov. 15 and Dec. 26-Jan. 10, 2004. One antlered deer per hunting license year. One antlerless deer with each required antlerless license.

DEER (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide: Dec. 1-13. One antlered deer per hunting license year. An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license.

ANTLERLESS DEER (Statewide): Oct. 23-25. Junior and Senior License Holders, Disabled Person Permit (to use a vehicle) Holders, and Pennsylvania residents serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Services or in the U.S. Coast Guard only, with required antlerless license. Also included are persons who have reached or will reach their 65th birthday in the year of the application for a license and hold a valid adult license, or qualify for license and fee exemptions under section 2706. One antlerless deer with each required antlerless license.

DEER, ANTLERLESS MUZZLELOADER (Statewide): Oct. 18-25. An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license.

DEER, ANTLERED OR ANTLERLESS FLINTLOCK (Statewide): Dec. 26-Jan. 10, 2004. One antlered per hunting license year, or one antlerless deer and an additional antlerless deer with each required antlerless license.

DEER, Antlerless (WMUs 2B, 5C and 5D): Dec. 26-Jan. 10, 2004. An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license.

FURBEARER

RACCOON & FOXES: Oct. 18-Feb. 21, 2004.

COYOTE, OPOSSUM, SKUNKS & WEASELS: No closed season, with certain exceptions during deer and spring turkey seasons.

BOBCAT (WMUs 2F, 2G, 3A, 3B, 3C and 3D): Oct. 18-Feb. 21, 2004. One per permit. (Bobcats may only be taken by furtakers in possession of a Bobcat Hunting-Trapping permit.)

TRAPPING

MINK & MUSKRAT: Nov. 22-Jan. 10, 2004.

COYOTE, FOXES, OPOSSUM, RACCOON, SKUNKS, WEASELS: Oct. 19-Feb. 21, 2004.

BEAVER (Statewide): Dec. 26-March 31, 2004 (Limits vary depending on WMU).

BOBCAT (WMUs 2F, 2G, 3A, 3B, 3C and 3D): Oct. 19-Feb. 21, 2004. One per permit. (Bobcats may only be taken by furtakers in possession of a Bobcat Hunting-Trapping permit.)
