George W. Hilling, 91, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Friday, October 24, 2003 in LaFayette Manor, Uniontown. He was born February 7, 1912 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Abner King Hilling and Mary Hilling.

George was a member of Central Christian Church where he had been a member of over 60 years and served as a Life Elder.

He was a Veteran of World War II and held membership in Uniontown I.O.O.F. and the Redmans Lodge of Uniontown.

He was retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Mitchner Hilling in October 1986, a son, Michael Todd Hilling, a sister, Kathryn Mitchner, and parents.

Surviving are seven children: Jenette Turnbill, Wanda Hamilton, and Maynard Hilling all of Louisville, Kentucky, Gary Hilling and wife, Patty, of Saranac, New York, Karen Ruth Beckman and husband, Richard, of Phoenix, Arizona, Kenneth R. Hilling and wife, Rebecca, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., and A. Keith Hilling and wife, Aquila, of Uniontown, Pa.; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Visitation continues Tuesday, October 28, in Central Christian Church, Uniontown, from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m., with his Pastor, the Rev. Arthur Mace, officiating.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Hopwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Christian Church in memory of George W. Hilling at 23 South Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401.
