John J. Fisher Sr.
John J. Fisher Sr., 76, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, October 25, 2003 in his residence. He was born May 21, 1927 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Charles Fisher and Anna Panko Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was a Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Navy as a Submariner.
Later he drove truck for several area firms.
A son, Samuel A. Fisher, two brothers, Ray Fisher and Charles Fisher, two sisters, Nellie Fisher Tomshack and Evelyn Fisher Ruby, and parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine L. Kelley Fisher; three sons: John J. Fisher Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann, and Robert L. Fisher all of Uniontown and David W. Fisher and his wife, Linda, of Smithfield, Pa.; four grandchildren: Lisa, Sheilah, Joshua and Kelley; five great grandchildren; and five sisters: Helen Myers, Laura Herris and Patricia Coffman all of Uniontown, Ruth Fisher of Masontown, Pa., and Shirley Coffman and her husband, Donald, of Connellsville, Pa.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Nicholas Philiposian officiating.
Interment will be private.
