Marjorie A. Carlton, 76, of Connellsville, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, in Uniontown Hospital. She was born March 15, 1927, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Monroe and Madge Harper Marietta and great great-granddaughter of Rockwell Marietta, the first Mayor of the City of Connellsville.

She was a Catholic by faith and a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Marjorie was a secretary for Attorney Murray I. Horewitz for several years. She was also employed at the General Hearing Aid Center in Uniontown, and then as a secretary for Allen Towing in Connellsville.

Surviving are a son, James Edward Carlton and wife, Karen of Connellsville; two daughters, Linda Allen and husband, Rodney of Connellsville, and Marianne Spiker and husband, Lonnie of Nashville, Ten.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Grimm of Scottdale, and Stacey, Samaria and Cilicia Allen, all of Connellsville; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Clark, stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., and Joshua Grimm of Scottdale.

Family and friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First St., West Side Connellsville, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in The Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, with the Rev. Terry Hercik as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
