Clarence Pete Nicholson
Clarence Pete Nicholson, 78, of 217 West Cross Street, Masontown, Pa., died of natural causes, September 1, 2003 at 1:10 pm., in his home.
He was born November 25, 1924 in Carmichaels, Pa., son of the late Thomas Nicholson and Minnie McClean Nicholson.
He was a member of Masontown Brethren Church in Masontown, Pa., Veteran of the United States Army, who served during World War II, retired Steelworker, and an Office Machine Repairman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Stillwagon Nicholson, a son, Clarence E. Nicholson Jr., and two brothers, Russell and Howard; and a grandson, Edgar Brown.
He is survived by seven children: Charlotta Marie Simpson, Waynesburg, Pa., Joseph Nicholson, Masontown, Pa., Deborah Haught, Old Staley, North Carolina, Jeffery Nicholson, Kernersville, North Carolina, Diana Walsh, Elyria, Ohio, Linda L. Brown, Pursglove, West Virginia, and David Nicholson, High Point, North Carolina; a brother, Thomas Nicholson, Masontown, Pa.; three stepsons, William Lawrence of Virginia, John (Jay) Lawrence of Virginia, and Roy Lawrence of Ohio; three stepdaughters, Stella Jean Rouch of Florida, Patricia Colbert of Rices Landing, Pa., and Margaret Roster of California; 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Family will receive Friends in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church on 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA 15461 today from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, September 5, until 1 p.m., the hour of Service in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Curt D. Nies officiating. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by Masontown VFW and American Legion.
Interment will follow in Masontown Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
