Committee prepares hospital for gala
The Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary decorating committee has been working with Deidra Grimm, owner of Lifetime Memory Makers Inc., to make centerpieces for the tables that will reflect the “Autumn Gala” theme for the Oct. 11 gala. The 2003 “Autumn Gala” chairperson is Martha Lou Taylor and co-chairman is Sally Spegar. Other committee members include Ruth Coughenour, invitations; Cindy Jones, reservations; and Betty Stefan, publicity.
The 47th annual Uniontown Hospital Ball titled “The Autumn Gala” will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, in the ballroom of the Summit Inn, which is located on the mountaintop overlooking Uniontown. This elegant evening will begin at 6 p.m. with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. The musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by “Fourth and Main” and will include a variety of musical interests.
The proceeds from the 2003 Ball will be used to purchase a telemetry cardiac monitoring system for The Uniontown Hospital. This cutting-edge wireless patient telemetry system allows patients to be safely monitored anywhere in the hospital. Trained nurses and technicians keep a continuous vigilant eye on physiologic parameters, such as blood pressure, oxygen levels and cardiac rhythms.
This new era in wireless patient monitoring unites ambulatory telemetry with bedside and transport monitors, which puts vital information at the nurses’ and physicians’ fingertips. All of the patient’s vital information can be viewed at a glance, which can lead to faster care decisions and thus improve the quality of care.
The proceeds from last year’s ball were used to purchase a Versalet 7700 Care Center for the Uniontown Hospital’s Family Beginnings Birthing Center.
