Irene A. Wilcosky
Irene A. Wilcosky, 82, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2003, in Mt. Macrina Manor.
She was born Sept. 15, 1920, in New Eagle, Pa., daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Petrick Barkey.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Steve Wilcosky; a grandson, Little Ray Wilcosky; the following sisters and brothers, Helen Durieux, Stella Hillman, Joseph Barkey Jr., Steve Barkey, John Barkey, Edward Barkey and Clarence Barkey; and an infant brother, Vincent.
She was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, the Christian Mothers and the Holy Rosary Society. Irene was a former cafeteria worker at the Saint Mary’s School and retired as a housekeeper from the Uniontown Hospital. She enjoyed walking and was an avid walker.
She is survived by a daughter and two sons, Mary Ann Lightkep of Leesburg, Va., Raymond T. Wilcosky and his wife, Lynn of Greensburg, and Jerry Wilcosky and his wife, Cheryl of Uniontown; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and the following sisters and brothers, Marie Fedak and George Barkey of Monongahela, Vincent Barkey of Parma, Ohio, Dorothy Wilcosky of Garfield Heights, Ohio, James Barkey, Mary Ann Barkey and Betty Bova, all of Monongahela and Charles Barkey of Pittsburgh.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at 10 a.m., in Saint Mary (Nativity) R.C. Church, Uniontown, with the Rev. Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Uniontown. The Parish Wake Service will be conducted today at 2:30 p.m. Christian Mothers and Holy Rosary Society will recite the Rosary today at 3 p.m.
