Man loses Superior Court appeal
Vincent M. Pahula Sr., 50, lost his Superior Court appeal to overturn convictions for sexual abuse that stemmed from a Fayette County Court conviction. Pahula was convicted last year and sentenced to nine to 20 years in state prison for abusing a teen between October 1993 and October 1998. The girl was between the ages of 8 and 12 when the abuse took place.
Pahula was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
He was deemed a sexually violent predator after a hearing before the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board. When he is released from prison, he will be subject to lifetime community notification, as well as lifetime counseling and police notification of his address.
