Laura E. (Hall) Bowers
Laura E. Hall Bowers, 95, of Adah, Pa., most recently a resident of Cloverdale Personal Care Home, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2003.
She was born on June 1, 1908, in Clinton, Pa., daughter of John H. Laymon and Elizabeth (Myers) Laymon.
Her parents, first husband, David Smith Hall, second husband, Robert Bowers, children, Charles Dean Hall, Denver Smith Hall and John Delbert Hall, a granddaughter, Tonia Renee Hall, and these brothers and sisters, Alva Laymon, Emory Laymon, Stella Richter, Lola Leighty and Ida Leighty, preceded her in death.
She was a member of Glad Tidings, Assembly of God Church, McClellandtown.
Surviving are these children, Garnet E. Franks of Carmichaels, Pa., Lois Fern Turner of Brownsville, Pa., Donald James Hall, Irene Elizabeth Norman and Delmas Laymon Hall, all of Adah, Pa., and Linda Lee Ziglear of Carmichaels, Pa.; a stepson, Robert Bowers; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; these brothers and sisters, Myers Laymon, Fern Fulton, Violet Geary, Irene Wilson, Hilda Fitch and Melvin Laymon; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the H. DAVID MCELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 Main St., McClellandtown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, in the Glad Tidings, Assembly of God Church from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service. Pastor Tim Tanner will officiate. Interment will follow in Pennsville Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 1711 McClellandtown Rd., McClellandtown, PA 15458.
