Dorothy L. (Danko) DeRose
Dorothy L. (Danko) DeRose, age 77, of Tower Hill 2, Pa., passed away Friday, April 23, 2004 in her residence after a very long and valiant struggle with cancer with her loving family by her side.
She was born March 26, 1927 in Tower Hill 2, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of John Danko and Julia Furman Danko.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Republic, Pa., The Ladies of Charity and Saint Vincent DePaul Society of the Church, and the Ladies Club of Tower Hill 2.
She was preceded in death by a Grandson, Joseph Mark Basile, sisters, Alyce Danko and Shirley Danko Valente, a brother, John “Skee” Danko, and her parents. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Dominick DeRose Sr.; a son, Dominick DeRose Jr. and wife Zelfa of Harrisburg, Pa.; a daughter, Diane DeRose Basile and husband Samuel Basile Jr. of McMurray, Pa.; and Grandchildren: Tara Pavlocak and husband Jason, Sam Basile III and wife Nicole, and Michael and Dominique Basile.
Friend will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, April 26, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Republic, with Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held today at 4:30 p.m.
The Ladies of Charity and the Saint Vincent DePaul Society will recite the Rosary today at 7 p.m.
The Ladies Club of Tower Hill 2 will hold Service today at 8 p.m.
