Michael Edward Petrosky
Michael Edward Petrosky, 74, of Arlington, Virginia, and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004 in The Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia. He was born on August 17, 1929 in Centerville, Pa., son of Charles Petrosky and Anna Sewa Petrosky.
Mr. Petrosky was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, Pa.
He was a Barber and former partner with his brothers, Chas, Joe and Andy, in The Safeway Barber Shop in Virginia for 49 years until his retirement.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the V.F.W. in Virginia.
He was also a 25-year member of the Knights of Columbus.
His wife, Hazel Marie Flick Petrosky, two Brothers, Charles “Chas” Petrosky and George Petrosky, one Sister, Anna Petrosky Koast, and Parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his only Daughter, Carol Ann Petrosky, Arlington, Virginia; three Sisters and four Brothers: Pauline Hasek, Mary Probala, and Rose Ann Lewis and her husband Omar “Ike” all of Cleveland, Ohio, John Petrosky and his wife Marie, Brownsville, Pa., Joseph Petrosky and his wife Mary Agnes, Falls Church, Virginia, Albert “Abe” Petrosky and his wife Mary Alice, Brier Hill, Pa., and Andy Petrosky and his wife Jackie, Frederick, Maryland; a Godson, Russell “Rusty” Petrosky, Brier Hill, Pa.; also numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 1 to 9 p.m. where a Panachida Service will be held Monday, April 26, at 9:30 a.m.
Divine Liturgy follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa., with The Rev. Fr. Jerome T. Botsko as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Nicholas Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 275, 940 and 838.
A Parastas Service will be held in the Funeral Home this evening at 7 p.m.
