Raymond L. Drake
Raymond Lewis Drake, 75, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.
He was born November 15, 1928 in Newton, New Jersey, a son of the now late Raymond Drake and Rose Jennie Gool Drake.
He was a Veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army.
He was a member of New Life Apostolic Tabernacle in Keisterville, Pa.
Surviving are his dear friend, Donna Clegg; the following children: Robert Bennett and wife Clara of Branchville, New Jersey, Lewann Henry of Smithfield, Pa., Rose Jennie White and husband Alan of Smithfield, Betty Hardin and husband Damon of Smithfield, Lewis Drake of Smithfield, Dale Drake of Carmichaels, Terry Drake and wife Linda of Point Marion, Pa., Raymond Drake of Connellsville, Pa., Thomas Drake and wife Blanche of Smithfield, and Ada Umble and husband Bill of Cleveland, Ohio; 30 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Drake of Wisconsin; and two sisters: Helen Drake of New Jersey and Caroline Presher of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy May Bennett Drake, a grandson, Christopher Scott Drake, and one brother, Russell Drake.
The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME OF SMITHFIELD, Pa., today (Monday, April 26) until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Robert Swope officiating.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
