Joseph Edgar Liston
Joseph Edgar Liston, 73, of Ohiopyle, Pa., passed away Sunday, April 24, 2004 at his home.
He was born June 12, 1930 in West Chester, Pa., son of Edward Blair Liston and Anna Ruth Hall Liston.
Joseph was a member of Maple Summit Union Church and Kentuck Union Church.
He was employed by the United States Department of the Interior, Fort Necessity Battlefield, Farmington, Pa., until his retirement in 1984.
Joseph served in the United States Army with the 510th Quarter Master Training Command Unit at Fort Lee, Virginia. He received the National Defense Medal and was honorably discharged on February 6, 1954.
A brother, James Lee Liston, and parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Margery Pearle Jackson Liston; three children: Joseph Edwin Liston and wife Vicki L. of Graham, North Carolina, Jay Edward Liston and wife Kimberly of West Mifflin, Pa., and Jeanie Eilene Alviar and husband Anthony of Ohiopyle, Pa.; and five grandchildren: Amanda, Ashley, Rebecca, Brian and Morgan.
Friends will be received by the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 28, until 1 p.m., the hour of the Service with the Rev. Peter Malik officiating.
Interment will follow in Mitchell Cemetery where Military Services will be accorded at graveside by General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood.
