Esther F. Ravenscraft, 78, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in Mt. View Specialty Care, Greensburg. She was born May 28, 1925, in Farmington, Pa., daughter of the late Robert Earl Merryman and Bertha Kenear Merryman.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter “Jim” Ravenscraft; a daughter, Esther “Sissy” Boyer; and a son-in-law, Carl Osborn Jr.

Surviving are four children, Roy Ravenscraft and wife, Donna of Hagerstown, Md. Thomas Ravenscraft and wife, Jane of McClellandtown, Patricia Osborne of Uniontown, and Deborah Ravenscraft of Smithfield; a son-in-law, David Boyer of Hagerstown; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Esther was the last member of her immediate family.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Sunset View Cemetery, Chalk Hill.
