Phyllis M. (Anderson) Ramsey, 59, of North Hollywood, Calif., passed away Monday evening, April 26, 2004, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, Burbank, Calif. She was born on April 26, 1945, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late Laymon and Genevieve Anderson.

She was a member of The Ever Increasing Faith Ministries, Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

She was a graduate of South Union High School and later moved to North Hollywood, where she worked as an actress for Central Casting Company, Burbank, Calif. She appeared in several movies, most notably, “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, daytime dramas and primetime television shows. She was also a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), until her retirement in November, 2003.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, James Anderson Sr.; and sisters, Genevieve Davis, Betty Fairfax and Yvonne Lawrence.

Surviving are her beloved son, T.A. (Chico) Ramsey of North Hollywood, Calif.; one sister, Lorraine Tarpley of Uniontown, Pa.; brothers, Laymon Anderson Jr., and wife, Audrey and Richard Anderson Sr., all of Cleveland, Ohio, Norman Anderson and wife, Carolyn of Pittsburgh, Pa., William Anderson of McClellandtown, Pa., the Rev. Owen Anderson and wife, Virginia of Hiller, Pa., Marvin Anderson of Springdale, Md., and Clinton Anderson of Uledi, Pa.; and a host of relatives and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, and will be announced in the Saturday edition of the newspaper.
