Gertrude E. (Watson) Collins, 81, of Masontown, Pa., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004. She was born June 14, 1923, in Poland Mines, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Taylor Watson; and three stepbrothers, Raymond, Frank and Spike Baer.

Surviving are her husband, Charles (Rip) Collins and a son, Wayne Collins and his wife, Rosa of San Clemente, Calif.; two brothers, Bob Watson of Houston, Texas, and Wilbert Watson of Dunbar, Pa.; a stepbrother, Ronnie Baer of Michigan; four sisters, Emma Fike and Hazel Tawney, both of Warren, Ohio, Iona Watson of West Virginia, and Della Kimmel of Masontown, Pa.; and a former daughter-in-law, Kathy Collins.

Gert was a member of the Masontown Mennonite Church and a dedicated volunteer of the Helping Hands Ministry of Masontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the BERNARD M. TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME, 220 South Main St., Masontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Ronald Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Masontown Cemetery.
