New pastor appointed at Farmington church
The Rev. Ken Walls has been appointed as the new pastor of the Farmington Free Methodist Church. Currently in his 20th year of ministry, Walls served as pastor of the New Life Free Methodist Church in Smock for 15 years and has worked in the area of evangelism and short-term missions for the past five years.
The church has taken a new direction in which every member is becoming a minister. The ushers and church treasurer have become Ministers of Money.
The youth director has become the Minister of Teen Madness.
The children’s director and nursery staff have become Ministers of Miniatures. The janitor is now serving as the Minister of Mop Up.
Officials said, “The church is seeking to build a congregation of believers that truly believe in serving and not just sitting. The church is also seeking to attract a crowd of seekers that are truly searching for the Good News of a passionate Christ that can pardon and purify their hearts and lives.’
The church is located on Dinner Bell/Five Forks Road, just off Route 40 in Farmington. Walls and his wife, Thelma, have two children, Stacey Ann Walls-Weaver and husband, Jon, of Frederick, Md., and Joshua William, currently a senior at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buchannon, W.Va.
Walls can be reached at 724-564-2925 or at coooleytownevangelism@yahoo.com.
