Marie Hernansky Wydo
Marie Hernansky Wydo, age 92, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2004, in The Marquis House, Uniontown, Pa., where she resided for the past five years.
Marie was born on September 6, 1912, to John and Mary (Adams) Hernansky.
She graduated from the former Uniontown Office Training School and spent her life as a devoted wife and mother.
She married George Wydo in 1930 and celebrated 53 years of marriage before his death in 1983.
She was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church and The Catholic Daughters.
Mrs. Wydo was an avid bridge player who participated in Uniontown’s Duplicate Bridge Club for years.
She also participated in several craft groups. She liked new ideas and kept abreast of the latest inventions, recipes and gadgets. She was always trying new things.
Before moving to The Marquis House she was challenging herself learning to use a computer.
She was known to be a quiet, gentle woman but also one who had a lot of spunk!
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Cecelia Wydo, a brother, Thomas Hernansky, two sisters, Vera Hernansky Misinay and Cecelia Hernansky Milan, and her parents.
She will be lovingly missed by her five daughters: Elaine Wydo Eddy and her husband Ralph Eddy, of Dania Beach, Florida, Mary Ann Wydo Glich of Valencia, Pa., Rita Wydo Shomette of Burtonsville, Maryland, Phyllis Wydo Bryson and her husband, Bill Bryson, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Joyce Wydo Hoch and her husband, Terry Hoch, of Uniontown, Pa.; and by her nine Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 7, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F., as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
