Joan L. Patton
Joan Louise Owens Patton, 74, of Waynesburg, Pa., died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at 10:59 a.m. She was born Feb. 20, 1930 in Ralph, Pa., daughter of the late Elva (Rozzi) Owens and Edward Owens.
Mrs. Patton was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waynesburg,. She was a graduate of German Township High School, Class of 1948. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. She enjoyed ceramics, Quilting, Embroidery, cross-stitch, baking and cooking. She also loved basket making and entertaining.
Her greatest treasure was her family. She was a childcare provider for 35 years and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Patton was proud to have sung in the All County Chorus.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Harry B. Patton, whom she married on May 26, 1948. Also surviving are four daughters, Clara Buchanan King, Janet Vollmer and Patty Miller, all of Waynesburg, Pa., and Joyce Doody of Pittsburgh, Pa.; six sons, Harry E. Patton, Gerald L. Patton and Jeffrey W. Patton, all of Waynesburg, Pa., Dale R. Patton of Chicago, Ill., C.S.M., Kenneth E. Patton of Germany, and Thomas A. Patton of Spraggs, Pa.; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charmaine Triplett of New Brighton, Pa., and Evelyn McDevitt of Lansdale, Pa.; two brothers, Patrick Owens of New Brighton, Pa., and Edward Owens of Huntsville, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
