Dolores J. Walls
Dolores Jane (Ford) Walls, age 73 years of Smithfield, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2004, from Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born in Springfield, Missouri, on June 4, 1931, a daughter of the now late William Ford and Evelyn Blankenship Ford.
She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Smithfield, Pa., where she also served as Sunday School Teacher in the Children’s Department having also been a member of the Paul Tarcy Class for a number of years.
Prior to her retirement she was Executive Secretary to Alex Brown and Sons, Stock Brokers, located in Washington, D.C., Executive Secretary at the 1st Pennsylvania Banking and Trust Company in Philadelphia, Pa., and Executive Secretary to the Kansas City Fire and Marine Insurance Company of Kansas City, Missouri.
Mrs. Walls is survived by her beloved husband, the Rev. Donald E. Walls, former Pastor of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Smithfield, Pa.; one son, David E. Walls and his wife, Erika Heinen, of Guilford, Connecticut; one daughter, Donna E. Walls Waldron and her husband, Peter, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; and one grandson, Peter Walls, three years old, at home.
The family will receive friends at the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME OF SMITHFIELD, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Smithfield, Pa., when funeral services will be conducted, with Dr. David Skinner, South West Area Minister for PA/DEL Baptist Convention and the Rev. Jay Hurley, Pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield.
