Warren S. Ryan
Warren S. “Jack” Ryan, 84, of Gibbon Glade, Pa., passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at his home. He was born September 15, 1920, in Pisgah, W.Va., son of the late Hobert S. and Hazel Marie Cupp Ryan. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Lavaun “Buck” Ryan.
Surviving are his wife, Lillie Myers Ryan; five children, Richard Ryan of Georgia, Marqueta Ryan of Georgia, Roger Ryan of Uniontown, Allen Ryan of Hopwood, Victoria Dougherty of Harrisburg and Clayton Ryan of South Carolina; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Clifford Ryan and sister Bernice Myers, both of Gibbon Glade.
Jack was a member of Brandonville United Methodist Church, and was the author of several outdoor books. He was a retired truck driver and employee of the Heritage Reservation in Farmington for 25 years, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy as a submariner. He was also a member of the National Trappers Association.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Farmington, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow in Bethel Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain Will Kirsh officiating.
