Stolen car recovered
On Sunday night, borough police recovered a 1994 Ford Probe that was reportedly stolen early Sunday morning wrecked into a tree. Police said the car, belonging to Terry Ross, 42, of Masontown was stolen while it was parked off South Walnut Street.

Robert L. Dugan, 52, of Masontown told borough police a trailer hitch was stolen off his truck sometime Friday night while the truck was parked in front of his home.

George Franks of Masontown told borough police a door and several mailboxes were damaged sometime Friday night on the South Main Street apartments he owns.

A wooden fence on Masontown resident Robert Null’s property was damaged sometime Friday night, borough police said.

Two charged
Borough police charged two men in seperate incidents with driving under the influence of alcohol over the past week.
Jack McCarthy, 63, of 228 Kennedy Ave. was charged with DUI Friday night after police stopped McCarthy for allegedly driving in an erratic manner on Liberty Avenue.
George Crosby, 68, Grays Landing was arrested for DUI Monday night after he allegedly ran a stop sign at the North Water Street and Court Avenue intersection and struck a 2000 Jeep, injuring the vehicle operator, Lois Dupont, and her two daughters. Police said Dupont and her two daughters suffered neck injuries from the accident and were transported by EMS to the Uniontown Hospital Emergency Room. Masontown Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Bill Lohr of the Clarence Hess Housing Project reported to borough police the theft of a satellite dish from his home on Thursday night.

Warrant served
Borough police served a warrant for auto theft on Derrick English of Fort Mason Village on Tuesday afternoon. English was placed in lock-up at the borough’s police station and was later turned over to the state police.

ATV taken
Someone stole a red 2000 Honda TRX400 valued at $4,200 from Michael Rafter’s Middle Street garage in Smock sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, state police said.

Pistol stolen
State police said someone stole a Hi-POINT 9mm semi-automatic pistol from Robert A. Jackson’s Wall Street home in Republic sometime between 12 p.m. Dec. 2 and 12 p.m. Thursday.

Poaching investigated
A K-9 city police dog was used to investigate the path of possible poachers who a city police officer discovered parked in a field near Walnut Hill Road at 2:41 a.m. Saturday.
After the officer observed the lights on a sport utility vehicle turn on in the field, the vehicle sped onto the roadway and the officer followed in pursuit. The SUV led the officer onto a dump near Stricklen Estates where three males jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot into the woods. The police dog tracked them without results.
City police had the vehicle towed at the request of the state police.
