John L. Delehunt
John L. Delehunt, age 79, of Erie, Pa., died Saturday, December 11, 2004, in Sunrise Assisted Living, Erie. He was born in Uniontown, Pa., on January 11, 1925, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Lane) Delehunt.
John served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the C.B.I Theatre.
He was an inspector for AT&T for over 31 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Erie where he served on The Parish Council, was a Lector, and a member of The Legion of Mary.
John was also active in several organizations including Habitat for Humanity and the Gertrude Barber Center.
He was an avid bowler and golfer.
John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Delehunt Connors and Helen Delehunt.
Survivors include his wife, Lenoir (Carroll) Delehunt; four Sons: James C. Delehunt of Long Valley, New Jersey, Daniel J. Delehunt and his wife, Janine, of Orlando, Florida, Lt. Col. William J. Delehunt, USAF, in Venezuela, South America, and Brian L. Delehunt of Erie, Pa.; two Daughters: Kathleen D. Kader and her husband, Robert, of Bluffton, South Carolina, and Mary Anne Seybert and her husband, John, of Cowansville, Pa.; and two Sisters: Stella Marron of Windber, Pa., and Agnes McArdle and her husband, Michael, of Ford City, Pa.; seven Grandchildren: Sean Delehunt, Ryan Delehunt, Ashley Delehunt, Chris Kader, Mark Kader, Jeff Kader and Adam Seybert; along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling at the A. BRUGGER & SONS FUNERAL HOME, L.L.P., Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504 (814-825-2500) today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, December 15, until 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Rick Tomasone as Celebrant.
Burial will follow in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
