Two charged

State police said Robert Treece and Kenneth Mansberry, both of Carmichaels, were charged with burglary and theft after they allegedly broke into the Hartley Inn early Thursday morning and stole several cases of beer.

Accident reported

State police said Joyce Davis of Carmichaels failed to negotiate a curve while driving Dec. 5 around 12:57 p.m. and struck a utility pole. Police said Davis suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Charges filed

State police said Kristina Lynn Wilson, 20, of Bentleyville and Michael Shawn Oshetsky, 27, of Nemacolin were charged with harassment after an altercation Saturday at 628 Nemacolin Road. Police said Wilson was also charged with underage drinking. Charges against the two were filed at the office of District Justice Lee Watson, police said.

Noise reported

State police said Melissa Sue Landman of Carmichaels was cited for disorderly conduct after several people alleged she was making loud noises and playing very loud music late Thursday evening.

Women cited

State police said Paula R. Randall, 24, of Uniontown and Kristie N. Brichetti, 22, of Mather were both cited for harassment after an altercation Wednesday afternoon at a location along North Pine Street.

Headstones struck

State police said an unknown driver failed to negotiate a turn in Hopewell Road and hit four or five headstones in a cemetery Sunday at 7:10 p.m. Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the Belle Vernon station at 724-929-6262.

Harassment filed

State police said John D. Shriver, 36, of Waynesburg and Paula M. Shriver, 29, of Mather were cited for harassment after an altercation Wednesday afternoon at 337 Third St.

Checkpoint conducted

State police said a sobriety checkpoint was conducted early Saturday morning along Route 21, which led to nine DUI arrests and a number of traffic citations.

Jeep stolen

City police said Denise Bowers reported that her black 1996 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from East Fayette Street between 5 and 10 p.m. Sunday.

Vehicle damaged

City police said someone broke a window on a vehicle owned by Betty Jackson in the city’s parking garage on South Street and ransacked it sometime during the weekend.

Vehicle struck

City police said a vehicle owned by Michael Carr was hit and damaged on East Askren Street between 7 p.m. Sunday and 12:49 a.m. Monday.

No one injured

State police said Joseph Pehur of Republic and Kimberly Riley of Uniontown were involved in an accident on Route 166 at New Salem Road Sunday at 6:25 p.m. No one was injured.

Arson reported

Borough police said an auto carrier from Shaffer’s Garage on North Main Street was set on fire Sunday morning, destroying much of the interior. Police said a gasoline can was found inside the cab of the carrier.

Car fire attempted

Martha Lardin of 404 N. Main St. told borough police someone tried to set her car on fire Saturday evening by stuffing paper into the gas tank and lighting the paper on fire. The vehicle was not damaged, police said.

George Franks told borough police that someone entered his trophy store over the weekend and took several items.

Borough police are investigating an incident where a dog bit a postal carrier while delivering mail Friday afternoon along Kennedy Avenue.

Dessa Epps, 43, told state police someone smashed the windshield in her vehicle sometime Thursday night while it was parked outside her Colonial Drive home.
