Hay burns
Officials at Fayette County 911 said that 2,500 bales of hay at a New Salem farm caught on fire around 11 p.m. Monday.
The bales are at Faithful Farms along New Salem Road.
New Salem and Footedale Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the initial call, according to 911.
State police could not confirm Tuesday evening if fire marshals from the Uniontown barracks were investigating the blaze.
Connellsville
Woman charged
Police filed charges of violating liquor laws and corruption of minors against Lydia Fields, 33, of 27 Gibson Terrace, after she allegedly provided alcoholic beverages to three juveniles during a Nov. 13 incident at her home.
Police said the minors admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages and were cited with underage drinking.
A Jan. 12 preliminary hearing before District Justice Ronald Haggerty has been scheduled for Fields in connection with the incident. The Fayette County Juvenile Probation Office will oversee hearings for the minors.

Charges filed
Police have charged the following individuals in unrelated incidents:
– Jeffrey Miller, 23, of Connellsville with harassment after he allegedly pushed an unidentified juvenile and an adult during a Nov. 20 incident.
– A 14-year-old and a 12-year-old juvenile with theft and conspiracy after they were allegedly found Nov. 17 removing items from vehicles parked at Highlands Hospital. The charges were filed with the Fayette County Juvenile Probation Office.
– Anthony French, 38, of Connellsville with disorderly conduct after he was allegedly found involved in a Dec. 7 disturbance along West Austin Avenue.

Investigations continue
Police are conducting investigations in connection with the following unrelated incidents:
– A Dec. 6 theft from a vehicle parked along Decatur Avenue. Police said musical instruments were removed from the vehicle.
– A Dec. 6 theft from a vehicle parked along Queen Street. Police said compact discs and cigarettes were removed from the vehicle.
– A Dec. 8 theft from a vehicle parked along McCormick Avenue. Police said several compact discs, two headsets and a black carrying case were removed from the vehicle.

Citation filed
State police said a harassment citation was filed against Virginia Lawson, 35, of Perryopolis after a fight Sunday at 9:10 p.m. on Circle Street.

Vehicle hits garage
State police said Joseph Kopf of Connellsville lost control of his vehicle on an icy patch of Route 201 Monday at 5:25 a.m. and hit a garage at 105 Side Road. Police said Kopf complained of arm pain.
