Farmington-Ohiopyle Road fire

1 min read

A Friday evening fire on the Ohiopyle-Farmington Road destroyed a maintenance barn/garage belonging to Louis Cesarino. According to Cesarino’s son Tom, his father was drying grain in a grain dryer in the barn/garage just prior to the fire. Farmington Fire Chief Brian Vansickle said the fire appeared to be electrical in nature. Cesarino said his dad, who has been a farmer for 65 years, was shook up following the incident. “He took a break for supper and when he returned the building was on fire,” said Tom Cesarino. Cesarino estimated the damage at about $40,000. Hopwood, North Union Township, Markleysburg, Addison, Mill Run, Ohiopyle and Springfield Township assisted at the scene.
