Louise “Liz” Thomas
Louise “Liz” Thomas, 94, of Washington, D.C., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday morning, Dec. 17, 2004, in Doctors Hospital, Lanham, Md. She was born Sept. 19, 1910, in Romany, W.Va., daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Fisher.
She was a lifelong resident of Uniontown, known and loved by all.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wallace “Fishie” Thomas.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Belle (Bird) Jennings and Linda Thomas, both of Washington D.C.; four grandchildren, Larry Thomas of Florida, Lorie and Lisa Jennings, both of Washington, D.C., and Misty Thomas of Uniontown, Pa.; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (Slug) Fisher of Florida, Edward (Bucky) Fisher of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Dr. Jimmy Fisher of Altoona, Pa.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa., on Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. A.C. Durant, pastor, of Tenth Street Baptist Church, Washington, D.C., officiating. Interment will be in Smithfield Cemetery (Mount Moriah Baptist), Smithfield, Pa. LATNEY FUNERAL HOME, Washington, D.C., and Lantz Funeral Home, Uniontown, Pa., are handling arrangements.
