Masked me try to rob Footedale Market
State police are looking for two masked men who tried to rob Footedale Market, 428 Footedale Road, Thursday at 7:40 p.m. After both suspects entered the store, one of them brandished a handgun and demanded that employee Diana Isler, 25, open the cash register. She backed away when the second suspect walked around the counter.
Both suspects fled when other employees came out from the rear of the store. The men drove toward New Salem in a white four-door sedan.
Both suspects are white. The one who had the gun is about 6 feet 1 inch tall and was wearing a black hooded pullover sweatshirt, jeans and a rubber “old man” mask. The second was described as about 5 feet 4 inches tall, 16 to 19 years old with short black spiked hair and was wearing a yellow long-sleeve pullover shirt, jeans and a red bandana on his face.
While police look into the attempted robbery, they are continuing to investigate two other robberies that occurred Sunday.
Police are looking for a black man in his early to mid-20s who robbed the Burger King at Laurel Mall shortly after the restaurant opened at 6 a.m.
The man escaped with an undetermined amount of money after forcing Ashley N. Fiano, 19, of Connellsville, Jenna R. Garletts, 19, of Dunbar and Frank Allen Rose, 22, of Dunbar into a rear storeroom at gunpoint.
The suspect is described as 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a medium build, light facial hair and a dark complexion. He was wearing a black hooded top, black jeans and black tennis shoes with red and white trim. Police said they believe he was driving an older model gray or white Mercury sedan.
Police said they also are looking for a man who stole a purse from a 61-year-old woman at 9:09 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the former Family Toy Warehouse at Cherry Tree Square.
The woman was placing packages in her vehicle when a black man approached her from behind and grabbed her purse strap and pulled until it broke. He fled with a second suspect who was driving a gold Honda.
Anyone with information on any of these cases is asked to call state police at 724-439-7111.
