Glen W. Powell
Glen W. Powell, 77, of Garards Fort, Pa., died at 12:01 p.m., on Monday, December 20, 2004 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Mr. Powell managed the McWreath Farm at Buffalo, Washington County, Pa., in his early work life and then managed the Lone Star Farm at Kirby, Pa. He later worked at the Blacksville Mine and retired from the Cumberland Mine in 1993. He and his son, Jason, were operating G & L Limousin Farm at Garards Fort at the time of his death.
On January 30, 1965, he married Louise Allen, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Glen (Jason) Powell, Jr., and his wife, Amy of Waynesburg; a daughter, Linda J. Walker of Parkersburg, W.Va. ; three grandchildren, Lane Powell, Steven Walker and Larry Walker; three great grandchildren, Remington Walker, Hunter Walker and Sebastian Walker; a brother, Reuben Powell of Salem, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m., today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P. M. on Wednesday, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa., where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 23, 2004. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
