Dolores DeVincent Marchines
Dolores DeVincent Marchines, age 75, of Vestaburg, Pa., died Tuesday, December 21, 2004, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa., after a lengthy illness. She was born August 28, 1929, in Millsboro, Pa., the daughter of Julius DeVincent and Sara Famularo DeVincent.
She lived most of her life in Vestaburg.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family, her grandchildren and caring for her ill husband.
She was a lifelong member of Saint Michael Archangel Roman Catholic Church of Saint Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown, Pa., and sang in the Folk Choir when health permitted.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Betty DeVincent Dewitt in July 1994 and Rosa DeVincent at age 15, and son-in-law, Andrew Lasko on January 12, 2004.
Surviving are her husband, John Marchines, whom she married on May 5, 1951; daughters: Michele Smith and her husband, Terry, of Washington, Pa., Marilyn Lasko of Marianna, Pa., and Marsha DeWitt and her husband, Duane, of Vestaburg, Pa.; a son, John Marchines Jr. of Lakeland, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Laverne; seven grandsons: Matthew Markley, Michael Markley, Ryan Smith, Allen Dewitt, Daniel DeWitt, John Marchines III and Shane Marchines; three granddaughters: Catherine Daniels, Diana Kennedy and Christina Lasko; eight great grandchildren; two very special brothers: Bob DeVincent of San Diego, California, and Gary DeVincent of Brookpark, Ohio; and a very special sister, Joann Ozohonish of Clarksville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the FRANK BURKUS FUNERAL HOME, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held Friday, December 24, at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Tom Raymond officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Saint Michael Archangel Roman Catholic Church of Saint Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown, with the Rev. Father Paul E. Grunebach as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Westland Cemetery, Centerville Borough.
Parish Vigil will be held in the Funeral Home today at 7:45 p.m.
