Helen Flock Fornick Zavilinsky
Helen Flock Fornick Zavilinsky, age 91, of Republic, Pa., passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2004, in the home of her daughter, Martha Medved, with whom she had made her home. She was born January 13, 1913, in Continental 2, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Stefan Flock and Mary Forgac Flock.
Helen was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Republic, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Michael Fornick in 1953, her second husband, Edward J. Zavilinsky in 1990, sisters, Mary Wibicki, Anna Pincheck, Margaret Losh and Sophia Bator, brothers, John Flak, Steven Flak, Andrew Flock, George Flak, and her parents. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her children: Martha Medved and husband, John, of Grindstone R.D., Pa., Michael Fornick and wife, Audrey, of Willowick, Ohio, and Ruth Ann DeMoss of Perryopolis, Pa.; 12 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from Noon to 9 p.m. and Thursday, December 23, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Republic, with the Rev. Father Stephen Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 8 p.m.
