Charges filed
Southwest Regional Police said Steven Russell Madden of 207 Wood St., Belle Vernon, was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after a domestic dispute with Janet Lynn Boyles, also of 207 Wood St., on Sunday.
Madden was arraigned before District Justice Herbert Mitchell in Brownsville and lodged in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $35,000 bond.

Carol Lesemen told Southwest Regional Police that on Dec. 21, a man and woman attempted to enter her home through the front window but were gone before police arrived.

Richard Ricco told Brownsville police that on Saturday, someone driving a black Jeep was trying to climb up the hill behind his building on Hibbs Street. Police said that tire tracks were clearly visible on the hillside.

Gasoline stolen
Brownsville police said someone driving a Chevrolet Blazer pumped $20 in gasoline at A-Plus gas station on High Street and drove away without paying Sunday.

John Victor of 1509 Water St. told police that he heard people fighting on Water Street on Thursday. The individuals involved were gone before police arrived.

Animal cruelty reported
Stella Broadwater of Lewis Street told police that a friend had informed her of a dog that had been dead for five to seven days at a nearby residence. Police checked the residence and found a dead pit bull terrier that they said apparently died from starvation. They also discovered two Akita-mix dogs that appeared to be very thin. They contacted the SPCA and continue to investigate the matter.

Arthur Wells of 236 Cadwallader St. told Brownsville police that he saw two males outside his home on Friday, one of whom appeared to have a gun. The two were gone before police arrived.

City police said they cited Sean Henry Schrock, 39, of Scottdale on Sunday after he allegedly was found passed out and intoxicated in a vehicle in the 100 block of West Patterson Avenue.

City police reported that an unknown woman in a maroon Buick pumped $4.95 worth of gas into her car Friday at the Honey Bear Sunoco on Snyder Street and left without paying, while someone in a gold Buick pumped $16 worth of gasoline and also left without paying.

Man charged
City police arrested Wilbert “Web” Burnsworth, 31, of Dunbar on Wednesday on charges of robbery, theft and receiving stolen property stemming from a Nov. 25 robbery at the Honey Bear Sunoco on Snyder Street at 12:15 a.m. Burnsworth was arraigned before District Justice Robert Breakiron and incarcerated on $50,000 bond.

Woman hurt in crash
Fairchance Fireman’s Ambulance transported Catherine Marie Guy of Fairchance to Uniontown Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident on Route 857 at 11:12 a.m. Sunday, state police said.
Guy was a passenger in a 2004 Nissan Maxima driven by Denise Marie Hawkins of Bowling Green, Ky., police said. Neither Hawkins nor her other passenger, Albert Amos Hawkins of Bowling Green, Ky., was injured in the accident, police said.
Police said the other driver, Brandon Christopher Barnickel of Smithfield, and his passenger, Francis Adrian Dowdell of Uniontown, were not injured. Police said it appeared that Barnickel’s vehicle sustained an apparent brake system failure.

Marie Krepps of 3712 Morgantown St. told city police an unknown person ran into her vehicle while it was parked at 194 Mount Vernon Ave. and fled the scene Saturday at 10:48 p.m.

City police said Joseph Evans of 147 Lincoln St. was cited for public drunkenness after he allegedly was seen walking along Madison Avenue while under the influence of alcohol Sunday at 9:20 p.m.

State police said a 1995 GMC Sonoma operated by Bradley Luick, 23, drifted off Redstone Furnace Road and struck a concrete block retaining wall at 2:15 a.m. Friday.

Neither Bonnie Koerber, 18, nor Robert Koerber, 17, was injured when their 1997 Mercury Sable flipped over on County Line Road at 3:23 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

Joshua D. Snyder, 23, of Connellsville was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped Snyder while he walked along West Blake Street at 7:50 a.m. Sunday.

State police said someone damaged a privacy fence located at the rear of Shawn Yauger’s Uniontown residence sometime between 2:45 and 3 a.m. Thursday.

State police said someone broke into Four Star Pizza along Route 40, pried open a desk drawer and stole cash between 9 p.m. Thursday and 5:30 a.m. Friday. Anyone who may have heard an alarm or breaking glass is urged to call the state police in Uniontown at 724-439-7111.

State police charged 55-year-old Russell T. Modispaw of Uniontown with harassment after he allegedly struck Linda Elardo, 57, of Connellsville on the left side of the face and neck during an argument at an Everson Valley Road residence at 8:50 p.m. Saturday. Charges against Modispaw were filed before District Justice Michael Rubish.
