Doctor’s wife taken into custody

By Patty Yauger 1 min read

CONNELLSVILLE – The wife of a local doctor convicted earlier this year will also be serving time in jail for continuing to drive a vehicle without a license. Connellsville police took Christine Fremd, 37, of 3101 Upper Ridgeview Drive, into custody Wednesday after she failed to appear for a Dec. 23 summary trial scheduled before Fayette County Court of Common Pleas Judge John Wagner.

District Justice Ronald Haggerty had found Fremd guilty of operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license in May.

Because it was Fremd’s 15th summary driving offense, Haggerty imposed a 60-day jail sentence along with a $1,000 fine.

Fremd appealed the ruling and was scheduled to appear last week before Wagner.

Wagner issued a bench warrant for her arrest.

Her husband, Mark Fremd, 49, is serving an 18-to-36 month sentence for bilking insurance companies out of money for treatments he did not give and for trading sex for drugs.
