Clarence J. “Dode” Ready, 92, of Dry Tavern, Pa., retired Chief Houseman from West Penn Power Company, United States Army Veteran of World War II who served in the Second Armored Division (the first United States Armored Division to land at Normandy), who was born in Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, April 30, 2004 in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa. On August 27, 1947 he married Alice Watson Ready, who survives. Also surviving are three children: Dorothy M. Ready DeJongh, Mission Viejo, California, Joseph Edward Ready, Dry Tavern, Pa., and Terry Walter Ready, Carmichaels, Pa.; grandsons: Robert Clyde Diamond and Richard Allan Diamond; and two great grandchildren. Clarence was the last member of his immediate family.

Friends will be received in the Paul Michael Lesako Funeral Home Inc., Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director, 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 4, from 1 p.m. until the Service at 2 p.m.
