Check stolen

State police said someone stole a $277 check from Charles Mitchell’s 500 Connellsville St. mailbox on Wednesday.

Police badges stolen

State police said someone smashed a window in a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck and stole two Pennsylvania State Police badges and identification cards in the Mitchell Field area between 10:30 a.m. and 2:10 p.m. Thursday. The badge numbers are 8351 and 5339, police said.

Numerous credit cards, duffle bags with clothing, a cast-iron soccer bank and a pair of Ridell tennis shoes owned by J. Peters, W. Berkebile and M. Hogan also were stolen, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police in Uniontown at 724-439-7111.

Bike stolen

Someone stole a mountain bike off Elizabeth Moore’s front porch at 1708 W. Crawford Ave. between 1:30 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday, state police said.

Truck damaged

Gary Lee Gordan of Uniontown told state police that sometime Thursday or Friday, someone damaged the tailgate on his 1999 Ford F-150 while it was parked on Brownfield Lane.

Structure fire

Firefighters from Farmington, Addison, Markleysburg and Hopwood were on the scene of a brush fire that apparently spread to a nearby structure on May West Road at 8 p.m. Saturday. According to Fayette County 911, no one was injured in the fire.

One person flown

One person was flown by Stat MedEvac to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident at the intersection of Blaine Avenue and Route 21 at 4:36 p.m. Saturday, while several more were injured, according to a Fayette County 911 spokesperson.

Fire departments from McClellandtown, Footedale, Edenborn and Masontown responded to the scene along with Fayette EMS, Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance and state police in Uniontown. Responding departments cleared the scene about two hours later.

Fight reported

City police responded to a fight outside a North Gallatin Avenue bar at 10:39 p.m. Friday and found Uniontown resident Leroy Grady bleeding from his face and head. Grady told police he and someone known to him got into a fight and the man stuck him several times in the head with a small pen knife. Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance took Grady to Uniontown Hospital to receive medical treatment. Police patrolled the area for the other man involved in the incident, to no avail.

Girl missing

Ruth Jacobs of 37 Pershing Court told city police at 11:57 p.m. Friday her 16-year-old daughter, Shamera Jacobs, did not return home from school. Jacobs is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Suspicious person

William David of 90 Walnut St. told city police at 10:47 p.m. Friday a suspicious man jumped over his fence. David told police that when he told the man that he was going to call the police, he began to cuss at him and fled in an unknown direction. Police patrolled the area but found no one.

False alarm

City police responded to an alarm at Fayette County Community Action, 137 Beeson Ave., at 2:44 p.m. Saturday. Police said there was no fire, and dust in the building activated the alarm.

Woman cited

City police cited Janet Marie Shaw for harassment after she allegedly repeatedly called Elizabeth Monaghan’s 17 Reppert Blvd. residence and came to the home threatening Monaghan around 3:30 p.m. Friday. Monaghan told police Shaw stood outside her residence, called her names and urged her to come outside to fight.

William G. Moorman of 20 Hortense St. told city police at 5:47 p.m. Friday a juvenile threw a rock and broke his window.

City police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Morgantown Street at 7:27 p.m. Friday. No further details were available.

Children harassed

Elsie Cornish of a 60 Cleveland Ave. apartment told city police a passing motorist in a white minivan yelled at her children and called them obscene names while outside the residence around 8:30 p.m. Friday. Police said they were unable to locate the van.

Abuse alleged

City police responded to a report of a man beating a dog with a stick in the yard of a Walnut Street residence at 10:32 a.m. Friday. Police said no one was in the area, and a brown dog there had no apparent signs of injury.

City police responded to a disturbance in the lot of a Fayette Street gas station around 11 a.m. Friday.
