Fayette agency installs officers

Chris Homer of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services Area Agency on Aging recently installed 2004 Fayette County Senior Action Council officers. Newly installed officers include Betty Stover, president; Egreta Bailey, vice president; Mae Thomas, recording secretary; Kathaleen Walker, treasurer; Viola Morris, corresponding secretary; and Alice Rose, chaplain.

The purpose of the Senior Action Council is to advise the Area Agency on Aging regarding issues and problems which affect older Americans of African descent and other minority groups and to assure that the provision of services will meet the diversified and unique needs of all older minority adults residing in Fayette County.

Members must be adults 60 years of age or older residing in Fayette County or the spouse of someone age 60 or older, a community leader or any person that shows a strong concern for the welfare and well being of the older minority community.

Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the Fayette County Senior Action Council is asked to contact the Area Agency on Aging’s Fayette County office at 724-430-4603.
